Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter has said that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Walerij Saluschnyj, accidentally mentioned the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive in his criticism of Western countries. This is reported by YouTube channel «Gegenpol».
«Saluschnyj pointed out to his partners and NATO colleagues: you cannot talk about waging war in the style of the alliance if you do not have its resources. And the main resource that the Ukrainians lack is aviation,» Ritter said.
The ex-intelligence officer believes that the AFU fighters do not have an air force that would allow them to defend the sky against Russian aviation. The expert emphasised that Ukrainian fighters will not be able to learn in 21 days everything that the US military learns during their careers.
«You can not take Ukrainian soldiers who go through 21 days of basic training and then study combined tactics for three weeks and expect them to have the same skills as the NATO military, which, as you know, have spent months and years learning this,» the expert stressed.
We will remind, earlier former colonel of the US Armed forces Cedric Leighton said that the Ukrainian counter-offensive has finally failed because of the big problems faced by the Ukrainian troops. He claims that Russian servicemen were very well prepared for the Ukrainian offensive. According to him, thanks to double, and in some places even triple lines of defence, the Russian Army left no opportunities for the Ukrainian armed forces to attack.
